Our Mission: Opportunity.
We improve the lives of Nigeria’s most vulnerable by providing women and children the opportunity they need to escape poverty.
About Us
Our Mission
Our mission is to improve the lives of young people in Nigeria, particularly women, through education, business opportunity, and micro-lending.

Our Founder
Founded by Retired Naval Officer Captain Bill Byrd, the organization is named for his father, and grandfather, who instilled the importance of giving back from an early age.
The need
Poverty is a cruel form of slavery
It is a sad testament to the modern world that so many millions of people still live in poverty — which for Nigeria — is someone living on less than a dollar a day. It is tough to be poor; but it is disgraceful that so many people have to live in poverty.
The problem is a lack of opportunity.
There are no jobs for men or women. Without proper infrastructure like electricity and water, business’s can’t develop. Without proper education, the cycle continues.
“My children were out of school as a result of financial challenges, your help placed them back in school.”

The Solution
FINDING A WAY for them to escape from poverty.
In order to help women and children — you have to find a way for them to escape from poverty. Providing health care, education and jobs are where governments face the biggest challenges. All countries have to develop resources to help the poor with these very basic needs.
WE HELP PROVIDE EDUCATION AND OPPORTUNITY.
We provide the opportunity for children to receive a proper education as well provide small loans to women to help them set up a small business, such as a fruit stand or shop.
Our Programs
Our foundation was built on principle of the Golden Rule. During his time in Nigeria, our founder, Bill Byrd quickly realized that applying this simple rule to the most helpless and vulnerable in poor societies could greatly impact the lives of many. With that, the following programs were formed and implemented.

Youth Education
Without proper education, the cycle of poverty continues. We help provide educational opportunities to the children in the communities we serve so that they may help themselves and their community escape the vicious cycle of poverty.
Microlending
Micro lending is a form of business financing using small amounts of money to help start a small company or project. Globally, especially in the community we are serving, a micro loan can change the course of an entire family’s live.
women’s care clinic
Women’s healthcare is another area we found to be in need. Our staff surgeon Dr. Ankarma was always over worked and under staffed so
“Foundation kids are given a home, education & care, helping them to achieve a better Life…”
